The BETA GAMMA SIGMA Society welcomed new members

For the second year in a row, a spring festivity was thrown at the Faculty of Economics in order to welcome all new Slovenian members of the International Honour Society Beta Gamma Sigma. High values of ethics, morality, complete integrity and social responsibility are holding together 625,000 graduates all over the world. This year, 111 more Slovenian representatives joined the club, where 165 members were already welcomed last year.
Only faculties with AACSB accreditation can be joined to the so-called “society of excellence”. The main advantage of the membership is definitely the contribution to progress of the faculty itself and of all the individuals who are part of the club.
“The members of the club have numerous possibilities and an opportunity to create new chances for career, educative and personal growth.”
In the introductory speech, Vice Dean for development of the FE, Maja Makovec Brenčič emphasized that the membership of the BGS Society reflects important reputation in the international environment, especially in international companies. “The members of the club have numerous possibilities and an opportunity to create new chances for career, educative and personal growth.” Membership enables them to cooperate on the student forum of leadership, to use services of BGS Career Resource Center, to participate in diverse events and to meet new friends, at home and all over the world. Moreover, the FE will struggle even more to make the club recognisable also to Slovenian employers.

The president of Alumni club of the FE, Janez Škrabec addressed the audience by saying that student friendships and connections last a life time. Secondly, it is important that people who think likewise hang out together. He remembered the new members: “The entry to the BGS Society binds you to the highest principles, such as honour, wisdom and diligence.”
For even better atmosphere trio of Conservatoire of music and ballet of Ljubljana was performing. The official part was continued by buffet where the new members dedicated a few words also to EF news. Their most common expectations from the club are “… new connections and acquaintances, keeping in touch with the first-class academic sphere and attending different events as a part of Career Center.” Beside better opportunities for career, they furthermore emphasized the connection of people with similar mentality. In addition, interest in self contribution to the club was also noticeable.
BGS club is definitely a good starting point for the career jump and as already Ralph Ellison once said: “Education means building bridges.”
