PHOTO CONTEST – »Faces of China«
Confucius Institute Ljubljana organized a celebration of Chinese day, which took place on Thursday November 15th. On this day all visitors hade the oportunity to get to know chinese culture and traditions through defferent workshops and presentations.
As part of this event a PHOTO CONTEST was held – »Faces of China«
China is not a country of one face. It is a place where tradition meets the modern. The purpose of this contest was getting to know China, the land of delicious flavors and spices, business opportunities and the largest population in the world. What else is China and how you’ve seen it- your photos talked about its color and glory.
CONTENT OF THE CONTEST
Everyone who wanted to participate had to send 1-2 photos that they thought best show attractions and undiscovered beauty of China to e-mail address ciljubljana@ef.uni-lj.si. Collection of photos took place from Friday 26.10.2012 to Wednesday 7.11.2012. The team of Confucius Institute Ljubljana then selected the best 20 photos, which were then posted in an online gallery on facebook page of Confucius Institute. The best final photos were on view and vote on the website from 11.08.2012. On that day we opened the online voting, which took place until 14.11.2012 on the Facebook page of the Confucius Institute.
Winning photos were announced on the day of the event, that is november 15th 2012. According to the Chinese principle one participant recived the first prize, two participants second prize and three participants third prize. On the day of the event the best 20 photos were on view.
The winning photo of Lea Gašparič recived 88 votes, second best was Karlina Potočnik with 62 votes and Monika Verbič with 54 votes. In third place was Karlina Potočnik with 50 votes, Boban Krčič with 39 votes and Iva Bionda with 32 votes. Congratulations to all the winners! All final photos are on view in the gallery below.
