Glimpses of Chinese Day!
Confucius Institute Ljubljana organized Chinese day celebration. The celebration took place at the Faculty of administration on Thursday, November 15th 2012 between 2pm and 5pm.
On this day all visitors had the opportunity to know China, a land of rich and long culture and lively history. China has so much wonders to offer: a mix between old and modern, magnificent Great Wall of China, the heart of Chinese civilization- town Xian with world known attraction – clay warriors, Chinese metropolis Shanghai, cute pandas in Sichuan province, amazing arts of Shaolin monks and a much more. China today is still a unique world and much more than Mao’s land of thousand equally dressed riders on the streets!
The program has been varied and colorful as the rich Chinese cuisine is. Chinese teachers who moved to Slovenia and teaching Chinese language here introduced themselves. They played on traditional Chinese musical instrument, sang Chinese songs and show some Chinese skills, for example, how to eat with Chinese chopsticks. Through a variety of workshops guests had a chance to try their hand at the traditional Chinese art – calligraphy, make an exquisite Beijing opera masks, learned about the role of drinking tea in Chinese culture, learned how to make Chinese dumplings, and much more. All participants had the opportunity to take a “test your knowledge quiz game about China”.
