Winter holiday workshops in library Bezigrad
In time of winter holidays Confucius institute Ljubljana organized children workshops in library Bežigrad, which were held from 18th – 20th February, 2014. That is how children of primary schools got the chance to get to know Chinese language and culture, with the help of our Chinese teachers.
On Tuesday, 18.02.2014, Chinese teachers Sun Shen and Jing Ximei presented Chinese traditional papercutting. With a lot of interest they first tried to cut simple shapes, then they tried also the complicated ones, which was a real challenge. On wednesday, February 19th, children got to know about traditional Chinese masks, which were obligatory part of Chinese Peking opera. Teachers expailed what is the meaning of the colours, that are on masks, for example which colour means evil, courage.. After a short explanation they also saw a short film about the opera. Then they got two masks and painted them as they wanted. On Thursday, 20th of February there was held a zodiac workshop. Chinese teacher Jing Ximei introduced them 12 animals of Chinese zodiac.
