We entered into a year of monkey
On February 3rd 2016 we celebrated Chinese New Year in Ljubljana Puppet Theatre. The event was organized by Confucius Institute Ljubljana in cooperation with Confucius Classroom Ljubljana and the Embassy of People’s Republic of China. Honoured guests were Dr. Maja Makovec Brenčič, minister of education, science and sport, his excellency Mr. Ye Hao, ambassador of People’s republic of China, Dr. Peter Gašperšič, minister of infrastructure, Mrs. Violeta Tomič, President of the group of friendship with the People’s Republic of China, Mrs. Štefka Kučan and many other representatives of the Slovenian ministries and universities.
Among the performers at the celebration were Mr. Matej Zupan, flute player and vice-chancellor of the University of Ljubljana, and Ms. Urska Križnik Zupan, harpist. The main part of event was the act Hallerstein – Slovene at Chinese palace, performed by students from primary school Savsko naselje (new member of Confucius classroom Ljubljana). The performance was based on the story written by Huiqin Wang.
