CI Ljubljana successfully hosted the 5th Slovenian Chinese Bridge Competition for secondary school students
On May 25, 2018, the 5th Slovenian Chinese Bridge competition for secondary school students was successfully hosted by the Confucius Institute Ljubljana at Jožeta Plečnika High School Ljubljana. Mr. Wu Chunlai, director of the Political Department of the Chinese Embassy in Slovenia, Ms. Katja Kolšek, Core synologist at CI Ljubljana, and Ms. Ma Xing, head Chinese teacher of the CI Ljubljana were invited to be the judges. The competition was divided into three parts: speech, talent show and knowledge quiz. Around the theme “Learn Chinese, Double Your World”, the contestants gave their speeches, sharing the reasons for learning Chinese, and the interesting Chinese culture they’ve learned. In the talent show session, all the contestants brought their excellent performances. Except calligraphy performance, Chinese songs, piano, cucurbit and Ukulele playing, there were also traditional Chinese dance with traditional costumes and Chen style Kungfu fan show, which brought a stunning audio-visual feast to the audience and became the highlight of the whole competition. In the end, contestants Pia Pajnič from Jožeta Plečnika High School Ljubljana, Katarina Rozman from Kranj High School, and Nika Kramberger from Maribor Second High School respectively won the first, second and third prize of the 5th Slovenian Chinese Bridge competition for secondary school students.
