Debate against other teams from different EUTOPIA universities in the online EUTOPIA inter-university debate

As part of University of Gothenburg’s involvement in the EUTOPIA initiative, the university organizes a number of student seminars. You will be provided a dataset which you should use to make an argument – for or against – and debate with other teams from different EUTOPIA universities. This time the debate will be centered around Covid-19 and students will have to address two out of four possible topics. The debate will be on March 3rd.
Topics
    • Efficacy of masks
    • Vaccines and treatments
    • Testing policies
    • Reliability of reported numbers of death
    • Gravity of the pandemic
    • Are the consequences of the lockdown and social distancing measures worse than the disease itself?
How to sign up
Sign up with your team (3 people max) or individually (you will be assigned to a team, most likely from your institution) before the 5th February. A link to the debating space will be provided to you, as well as a set of documents on COVID-19, and of online resources on argumentation and fallacies.Please sign up here: Data-informed students debate on Covid-19 – Registration form (office.com)

Summer School for sustainability

For four inspirational weeks in July, together with students from around the world, you will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, and to collaborate on finding solutions to sustainability challenges. Join us for a safe and stimulating online summer school.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the University of Gothenburg has decided to run the Summer School for Sustainability completely digitally and has extended the nomination and application periods.

The Summer School for Sustainability is open for exchange students and Swedish students.

Dates for the summer school: July 5 – 30, 2021
Nomination period: November 10, 2020 – March 1, 2021
Application period: March 2 – 12, 2021
