Undergraduate Orientation Day – a warm welcome to all freshmen!
Dear freshmen,
the beginning of the academic year is irresistibly approaching, and we are so happy to share all the excitement with you! You will soon enter student life, and we are proud that you will take this step at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (the UL SEB).
We will organize the Undergraduate Orientation Day for all first-year students enrolled in a university degree programme in Business and Economics (English track) live at the school. We will welcome you on 30 September 2024 at 9:00 am in the Lila hall (Lila dvorana).
The English-speaking event for bachelor students will provide information on international student-specific topics:
- organizing your life in Slovenia,
- the study system at the UL SEB,
- the student life in Ljubljana, etc.
After the introductory part and a short presentation of the faculty, we will divide you into smaller groups, where we will tell you all about our study process. After that, you will have the opportunity to visit the presentations of the Central Economics Library or international opportunities.
The lessons will start on Tuesday, 1 October 2024. During the first week, you will also get acquainted with the activities at the UL SEB, the University and the associations that work under the auspices of the UL SEB. We invite you to join our library, your favourite sports activity and become part of one of the associations, thus developing your skills and potential outside of your studies.

- Study process
The study process will be conducted in person at the school.
Enrollment in the faculty library is not automatic, however, you can easily enrol in CEL online, thus avoiding crowds and securing access to the rich collection of materials and e-resources in Digi*CEL today.
CEL will also welcome graduates and freshmen at the PopUp*CEL info point in the lobby between the Small and Great Halls, where you will find out all the key information about the library, reserving study places, remote access to e-resources, CEL training and purchasing study materials.
Most of the information about the library can already be found on eTutor*CEL.
- Physical Education
Registration training groups will occur from Tuesday, October 1 to Thursday, October 3, 2024, through the Canvas system in the SPORTS EDUCATION tab. Physical education professors will be available from Tuesday, October 1, to Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the lobby between the Small and Great Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Schedules for the winter semester 2024/2025 will be published on Student-net. To access Student-net you’ll need your digital identity.
- Digital identity
You can acquire your digital identity on the UL portal.
- EFfective freshman
All important information about studying at the UL SEB can be found in the manual EFfective freshman, which will be sent to your e-mail address and published online.
Before the academic year begins, the University of Ljubljana will host a traditional online International Student Welcome Day on Friday, 18 September 2024. You will be able to learn more about studying at our University of Ljubljana and living in Slovenia and Ljubljana.
