Balkan Express Summer School 2015

The official opening of the Balkan Express Summer School 2015 took place on Sunday, 28th June. The Academic Director of the Balkan Express Summer School Prof. Janez Prašnikar, PhD, welcomed all the participating students, which was followed by the opening lecture held by prof. Maja Makovec Brenčič, PhD. When the formal part came to an end, some time was spent for getting to know each other during which the Dean of the Faculty of Economics prof. Metka Tekavčič, PhD, joined.
Throughout the following three weeks 22 participating students coming from four different countries had a chance to take two courses – Economics of Transition (7 ECTS) and International Business (6 ECTS). Courses were taught by 19 lecturers at five different Universities. After the first week of classes at the Faculty of Economics, students went on the road and headed towards the University of Banja Luka, University of Sarajevo, ‘Džemal Bijedić’ University of Mostar, and University of Montenegro. While attending lectures organized by the University of Montenegro, they were actually staying in Budva. A few company visits were organized to make learning even more interesting, while trips to Bled, Zagreb, and Dubrovnik ensured some time for relaxation.
The Balkan Express Summer School 2015 officially ended on Saturday, 18th July, when the students returned back to Ljubljana.
