School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, was successfully reaccredited for the next five-year period by the renowned international association AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

From May to July 2019, the evaluators, reputable professors and deans of schools in the area of internationalisation as well as experts on quality assurance: Prof. Dr Steef van de Velde (Rotterdam School of Management; president of the peer-review team), Prof. Dr Tanuja Singh (St. Mary’s University, Greehey School of Business) and Stephen Tee (Bournemouth University Business School), evaluated the SEB LU’s achievement of quality standards.

The AACSB accreditation is based on a commitment to high quality and continuous progress in business education. The accreditation is underpinned by demanding and comprehensive accreditation criteria in the fields of strategic school management, activities and engagement of all stakeholders, education contents and teaching methods in accordance with the high standards of researchers.

In their report, the evaluators defined SEB LU as one of the best in South-East Europe in terms of quality, holding three of the most important international accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA) and being a prominent member of ACE (Alliance of Chinese and European Business Schools). It has played and continues to play an important role in the sustainable development of the country, with strong (domestic) corporate and governmental connections and by equipping graduates with knowledge, skills and with its values. The evaluators established that SEB LU has a well-defined, articulated strategic plan, the capabilities to execute and make progress, and strong buy-in and high-level accountability. Its progress in academic performance is commendable as its Faculty actively participates in 22 AACSB-surveyed disciplines, awarding SEB LU graduates with a wide array of future-proof, experiential, interdisciplinary knowledge.

During their visit, the evaluators met 90 representatives of SEB LU’s stakeholders: the Faculty, the teachers, expert staff, students, graduates and representatives of the business sector. They concluded their evaluation session with a visit to the management of the University of Ljubljana.
