Confucius Institute Ljubljana was organizing regular courses of Chinese language and culture in the new academic year 2012/2013 in order to promote Chinese language and culture of the Chinese people. Under the guidance of a native speaker students learned about various aspects of a Chinese everyday (Chinese horoscope, meaning of colors, tea ceremony, celebration, superstition, etc.) and cultural characteristics of China (geographical, historical presentation, the development of writing, philosophy, art, religion, etc.).
COURSES FOR STUDENTS:
- 34 HOUR BEGINNERS COURSE – CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
The course was designed for beginners with no previous knowledge of Chinese language. The content of the course was practically oriented with the main focus on auditory and speech understanding and learning the character font (50 – 100 characters). Participants also learned about Chinese culture, customs and traditions.
- 30 HOUR ADVANCED COURSE – CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Advanced courses were designed for those who have already attended the introductory course or have previously met with the basics of the Chinese language and culture. In the course, students learned new vocabulary, with additional emphasis on practical communication.
COURSES FOR THE PUBLIC:
- 30 HOUR BEGINNERS COURSE – CHINESE BUSINESS LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Beginners course was designed for participants who require Chinese language primarily for business purposes and are aware that in the Chinese market it is difficult to communicate using only English. The course focus was on communication with partners and use of language in various business situations. Much attention was paid to the Chinese culture, habits, traditions and specifics of the business world, where knowledge is the basis for doing business with Chinese partners.
- 30 HOUR ADVANCED COURSE – CHINESE BUSINESS LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Advanced Chinese Business language courses awas designed for participants who have frequent business contacts with Chinese-speaking customers or partners. In the course, participants learned new vocabulary, with additional emphasis on useful business communication.
NEW! COURSE FOR CHILDREN:
- 15 HOUR BEGINNERS COURSE – CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Course for children was designed for children aged 8 to 15 years. Chinese teacher was using appropriate didactic methods through which children unconsciously learned Chinese language – this means that they got to know new words through games, songs, stories, cutting and assembling the various characters through pictures and repetition, etc..
