On Monday, December 5, 2012, International Relations Office organized traditional Erasmus Day in order to present various possibilities of studying abroad. More than 200 students participated in this event.

At the plenary session, Head of International Relations Office, Danijela Voljč, presented Erasmus study exchange program. Students interested in studying abroad can choose among 157 Erasmus partners within European Union and 31 bilateral agreements worldwide. Head of Student Affairs Office, Tilen Balon, presented the rules and procedure regarding course recognition. According to FELU policy students who have finished the first study year at the Bachelor level can apply for Erasmus exchange. More information can be found on the student-net website. International coordinator at the University of Ljubljana, Bibi Ovaska Presetnik, presented funding possibilities which are offered to outgoing students. Each Erasmus student can get Erasmus grant for the period of exchange. Slovenian students can apply also for additional grant offered by national fond Javni Sklad RS za štipendiranje. Possibilities for study placement abroad were presented by Andreja Turman from Career Centre.

On the roundtable former Erasmus students shared their expectations and experiences gained during their studies and life abroad. In order to get up to date information regarding exchange, we arranged Skype interview with student Petra Korelc, who is currently on Erasmus exchange in UK.

During Erasmus day International Relations Office hosted representatives from partner universities: Maurice Roche, Fachhockschule Nordhausen, Aline Salierno, TELECOM Business School, and Michael Gray, ESSCA.

On Erasmus fair students had the opportunity to get more information regarding the partner schools. Slovenian and foreign students represented their country, school, culture and experiences. Needless to say that the fair was a big success and that everyone benefitted greatly from their encounter with the representatives of each institution.

Erasmus day concluded with a traditional winter picnic in front of the faculty. This was a chance for students to bond, enjoy in good food and drinks and celebrate the upcoming winter holidays.

More information regarding the Erasmus exchange and application can be found on the student-net.

At the end we would like to thank all volunteer tutors, who helped in organizing this event.
