The Centre for Student and Career Services offers different services to help our students with their learning process, and to choose and pursue career paths.
Through our Centre, undergraduate students can fulfil their study obligation of expert work placement and postgraduates their expert work placement abroad when they are applying to schemes such as Erasmus+, the Norwegian Fund, the Slovene Human Resource Development and Scholarship Fund for visits abroad.
To assist in the search for employers for whom students are going to do their work placement the Faculty together with employers offers different activities such as:
- offers of employment, completion of practice, student work, scholarships;
- presentation of career opportunities and the way of selecting staff for individual employers;
- carrying out pre-selection procedures on the request of an employer.
Along with the mentioned activities, it is worth pointing out the annual organisation of the Careers Day at the FELU under the title “Work is (not) looking for me”, where students can meet their potential employers and institutions which can help with their career path.
The Centre offers also organisational support to student tutorship. It organises four kinds of tutorship:
- introductory (helping first-year students step into both the academic world and student life),
- course tutorials (extra help for the more demanding courses of the first year of the undergraduate programme),
- for students with special needs,
In addition, student tutorship for foreign students is organised by the International Office.
Workshops
Lifelong learning holds an important place at the FELU for improving the knowledge and skills of students. The Faculty has a rich tradition of lifelong learning, and those interested can choose from a wide offer, namely from the areas of business skills, management and personal development, computer science, foreign languages etc. The Faculty also puts great importance on education for work, developing individuals’ competencies and thereby improving their employability. Only last year we organised 129 workshops. Students had the opportunity to attend those workshops and an additional 30 cost-free workshops organised by the University of Ljubljana.
