Guest speaker from City Hotel Ljubljana

As part of the Strategic Management class and strategy implementation discussions, Prof. Adriana Rejc Buhovac invited Peter Sušnik, the Chief Executive Officer of the City Hotel Ljubljana, to speak about their performance-based pay. Peter Sušnik has been invited by the Krajc family to took over the role of the CEO in all of the Krajc family interests in Slovenia and tasked with the financial restructuring and operational overhaul of the company. In 2010, he started the challenging negotiation process with the hotel’s unions to establish a fair and transparent variable compensation plan for all employees working at the hotel. The idea was to align the interests of owners and employees and ensure the success of strategy implementation. Peter has discussed the critical issues in this process and the positive impacts of the new incentive system on the employee motivation and financial performance.
