The FELU information day 2014

The FELU undergraduate study information day was held on Friday, 14 February 2014. Visitors who filled practically every seat in the big Mercator lecture theater were first greeted by Dean Metka Tekavčič.  Professor Tekavčič reminded prospective students to be prepared for hard work once at the faculty, but promised that their ultimate reward would be success and satisfaction from achieved goals.

After the introduction, moderator Jana Pucelj offered the floor to guest speaker Jaka Gornik, the founder of two companies, namely Futuristični marketing in FM Musick. Mr. Gornik described a typical working day in their company, stressed the intricacies of recruitment, and explained that strong team working skills were high on the recruiters’ wish list.

Tilen Balon, MSc, the head of the Academic and Student Affairs Unit provided basic course information and outlined the study at the FELU. He stressed the importance of regular class attendance and note taking and pointed out that »students learn for themselves and their future careers«.

The next speaker was Ana Ahačevčič, a postgraduate student of Marketing at the FELU. Ana shared her experience of studying at the FELU and explained the reasons that made her enroll at the faculty and go on with her studies on the postgraduate level.

Finally, the floor was taken by the president of the Student Council Ažbe Platiša and representatives of various student organizations at the faculty. They described their activities and invited the students to join them.

At the end, prospective students seized the opportunity to ask questions.

The information day was also held on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, 15 February.

The Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana offers two undergraduate study programs:

University degree program: Business and Economics (UPEŠ) with 12 specializations

Professional degree program: Business Administration (VPŠ) with 8 specializations
