On 17 and 18 July 2015 the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana hosted a conference of 28 deans and vice-deans from the Asian and European schools that are members of the ACE – Alliance of Chinese and European Business School network. The ACE Alliance was established in the framework of the EFMD Asia with the aim of connecting the leading business and economics schools in Asia and Europe.
Each year one of the Alliance members hosts the conference; this year the honour was awarded to the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana. Concurrently with the conference of deans, a one-day research seminar was held for researchers from the ACE Alliance schools. The seminar was attended by 22 participants from the Faculty of Economics, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Goetheburg and MIP Politecnico di Milano.
This partner meeting is an excellent opportunity to set out new schemes for co-operation related to shared diploma programmes, research and exchange of professors.
In her opening speech the Dean, Prof. Metka Tekavčič, PhD, highlighted her views and proposals for the future of the ACE network. According to the Dean, the ACE network enables far more than just a classical exchange of students and professors. In particular, it also facilitates development of joint doctoral mentorship programmes and a programme for young and talented professors, and creates an academic platform aimed at developing the European and Chinese markets and promoting graduate employability.
