Marketing management guest lecture at Management course

Guest Lecture was divided into three main parts, where our guest lecturer, Mrs Tanja Kavran, CEO of Slovenian Marketing Association, presented (1) evolution of Slovenian Marketing association’s development from 1976 onwards and its organic growth of activities, membership, events and managerial responsibilities; (2) management of the association, clearly addressing all four management functions. Guest lecturer expressed her need to dedicate the majority of her time to human resource management and working with people that are different or better than she is in different fields of work; and (3) her managerial working experiences, among others she stressed the importance of personal credibility, clear vision, teamwork, listening skills, delegation and the need to be also results oriented.

Based on her extensive experiences our guest speaker shared with us valuable advice, among others the dedication to hard work where Mrs Kavran shared with the students one of her favorite quotes: ”Timing, perseverance and ten years of trying will eventually make you look like an overnight success (Biz Stone).”

She also advised our students never to be afraid to say “I don’t understand” if they have a sincere wish to develop as human beings. And also be prepared to say “I’m sorry” if they did something wrong. And always to ask oneself “ Are my actions good for my stakeholders?”
