In the 2nd and 4th weeks of March, students of Business Logistics and Business Information organised an Austrian-Slovenian student exchange. In cooperation with the University of Klagenfurt, in a 3-day trip they visited successful logistics and manufacturing companies in Klagenfurt: Fundermax, Gebrueder Weiss, Mahle and CMS Electronics. In Slovenia, they visited the Spar Distribution Centre, the manufacturer of pharmaceuticals KRKA in Novo mesto, the Postal-Logistic Centre in Ljubljana and Danfoss Trata.

The credit for successfully organising the event goes to Marko Budler, teaching assistant from the FELU, and the coordinators Nina Mrak, student of the Business Logistics graduate programme, and Prof. Gerald Reiner and Tanja Olip, MSc, from the partner university. There were many opportunities for informal meetings, students went sightseeing in Klagenfurt and the old town centre of Ljubljana, socialised along with good food, and tested products as final users in the Union Experience framework. The exchange and visits were attended by 30 students and their companions on average. The Faculty plans to implement similar projects in the future and to invite other partner universities and companies to join in.
