The 5th international conference on management and organisation
The Slovenian Academy of Management (SAM), in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana, organised the 5th international conference on management and organisation entitled Management and Organization in The Digital Society on Thursday 14 June and Friday 15 June 2018.
The conference venue was Brdo Hotel at Brdo pri Kranju. The introductory speeches for conference attendees were given by Prof. Dr. Tomaž Čater, President of the Slovenian Academy of Management, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aleša Saša Sitar, Chair of the Conference Organisation Committee, and Prof. Dr. Matej Černe, Chairman of the Conference Programme Committee.
The conference was attended by representatives of different universities and faculties from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Norway, Italy, Hungary, Albania and the Netherlands as well as from some Slovenian companies. They all engaged in a lively discussion about various aspects of digitalisation and the challenges it poses to management and organisation. A total of 17 contributions was presented. The FELU staff also took part in the consultation with their contributions, namely Assist. Prof. Dr. Melita Balas Rant, Prof. Dr. Matej Černe, Assist. Prof. Dr. Jure Erjavec, Prof. Dr. Mojca Indihar Štemberger, Prof. Dr. Jurij Jaklič, Assist. Prof. Dr. Anton Manfreda and Prof. Dr. Peter Trkman. Formal awarding of diplomas
On Monday 18 June 2018, the Large Hall of the Faculty of Economics was the venue for the official awarding of diplomas. Diplomas were awarded to undergraduate and graduate students.
The first to greet the new Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana graduates was the Dean Prof. Dr. Metka Tekavčič, who invited them to become members of the FELU Alumni, whose membership has been rising every year. The keynote speaker at the awards ceremony was Alenka Gorenčič, MSc, Director of Tax and Legal Consulting at Deloitte Slovenia.
Those present listened to music created by Metka Udovč and Anja Šošterič (violin duo) from the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana.
