Today, the technological process and many global innovations are changing the ways in which we do business and live. On the other hand, the tension and uncertainty in the field of political development between the global powers also raises many global questions and challenges. Due to that, the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business (SEB LU), hosted the traditional Economic and Business Review – EBR conference on Friday, 7 June 2019. The conference with the main topic “Managing Business and Policies in a Changing Global Landscape” was attended by around 30 participants from different countries.
Prof. Dr Tjaša Redek, the main organiser of the conference, said that “the purpose of the conference was to highlight the main economic challenges from various fields, both macroeconomic and microeconomic, but also to enable a constructive scientific discourse with the help of empirical findings,” and added that “a large number of authors, both from the SEB LU and from abroad, took part in six sections.“ She concluded that the colleagues from Italy, precisely from the University of Udine, actively participated as organisers and authors at the same time.
“I find it very positive that this year we organised the EBR conference in cooperation with our colleagues from the universities of Udine and Trieste. This year, due to their help with the organisation and in particular with the promotion, we received a significantly larger number of contribution papers than in previous years. But above all, we are very delighted that a large number of our colleagues from Italy participated in the conference,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr Matej Černe, one of the co-organisers. He also mentioned that such conferences can make a significant contribution to the further strengthening of the already strong cooperation with colleagues from abroad, in the field of project work and joint research.
Due to uncertain the technological, economic and political environment, we can certainly expect a number of challenges in the future. That is why it is very important that we talk about these challenges and that we look for constructive solutions for them. Congratulations therefore go to all the organisers of the event, who ensured an excellent performance of the conference and at the same time shed light on many global economic problems.
