We are here for you. Below are some of the questions we have been frequently asked concerning the current situation, and the latest answers. We will update our answers according to the most recent information.

FAQ for INCOMING exchange students
- Is the online teaching and learning going to take place also after 13 April 2020? Until the end of semester?
The UL Rector has informed all students and staff about signed Resolution which says that all forms of direct instruction and limiting personal contact in all activities at the UL are valid at least until and including 13 April 2020. As soon as Rector announces prolonging or cancellation of this Resolution, we will inform all incoming exchange students. Please check the UL web site https://www.uni-lj.si/ and SEB LU website regularly http://www.ef.uni-lj.si/en
- How will students take exams?
The SEB LU is preparing solutions to enable exam obligations to be fulfilled despite the changed conditions this semester. We will do our best to ensure that you can all take your exams even in the new circumstances. All information is to be published at due time on the SEB LU’s website, so please keep yourself updated.
- How will students take exams according to different time-zones?
At the moment, the SEB LU management is intensively considering several solutions to provide online examination. As soon as they announce it, we will inform all incoming exchange students.
- Main concern is time difference and group work within projects.
Please contact the professor directly to find a solution. Each course has its own specifics.
- Will the online teaching and learning period be included in the Certificate of Attendance?
Yes, in case a student will follow online teaching and learning process and complete examination at the SEB LU, this period will be included in the Certificate of Attendance.
- Does it still count as an exchange semester if I am not in Ljubljana but still finish my mobility online at the University of Ljubljana?
As far as SEB LU is concerned yes. In case a student will follow online teaching and learning process and complete examination at the SEB LU, this period will be included in the Certificate of Attendance. For full confirmation please check with your home institution.
- Am I allowed to come back to the SEB LU when the borders open?
At the moment, Slovenian government has not given any specific date yet.
- I would like to come back next semester. Can I? May I stay in the Student dormitory?
Yes, but please contact your home institution and start nomination procedure from the beginning. SEB LU will be very happy to welcome you.

THE TEACHING PROCESS AND COURSE OF STUDY
- When will the SEB LU be open again and the direct study process re-established?
The relevant decision of the UL Rector’s Office received on 18 March 2020 stipulates that all types of direct teaching work are to be suspended until (and including) 13 April 2020, or until the decision is revoked.
Students will be informed of the decision being revoked or about new measures on the SEB LU’s online platforms.
- What about those courses that require student attendance?
Information about obligatory student attendance is to be provided by the course leaders.
- Could the timetables change?
The summer semester timetables currently apply. Should any changes be made, you will be informed about them by the course leaders on the relevant course’s website or Canvas.
- How to access the course materials on the course website and Canvas?
Students of the SEB LU have been given free access to the study materials in the collection of SEB LU Publishing. They are available at the class websites and in Canvas as protected files. Namely, the files are protected against copying. Material will be published by individual teachers at the course websites.

PRELIMINARY EXAMS, EXAMS AND OTHER DEADLINES
- What will happen with preliminary exams whose dates were scheduled in the period before 13 April 2020?
The SEB LU has been actively looking for solutions to enable its students to fulfil all their obligations even in these changed circumstances. You will receive all information in due time from the course leaders or on the SEB LU’s online platforms.
- Could the summer examination period be postponed?
The SEB LU is actively working on solutions to ensure all exam obligations in the summer semester can be fulfilled in the altered conditions. We’ll do our best to make sure that you can all sit for exams even in these circumstances. All information is to be published at due time on the SEB LU’s website, so please keep yourself updated.
- Will the deadline for submitting dispositions of final theses be extended?
The deadline for submitting dispositions of final theses, originally scheduled for 31 March 2020, has been extended until 18 June 2020. Dispositions submitted by this date will be discussed at a meeting scheduled for 23 June 2020. This date will be considered as the disposition confirmation date.
Those students who had completed all of their study obligations, except for the final thesis, before they lost their status and who had, no later than within 6 months of losing their status (by 31 March 2020), the topic of their final thesis confirmed (officially registered), will be able to complete their studies without additional payment provided they complete them within 2 years of losing their status. We inform all of these students that, due to the current circumstances, we have extended the deadline for disposition submission to 18 June 2020.
- How can I submit the disposition and application for approval of my master’s thesis topic?
A disposition and topic approval application must be sent to the following e-mail address: tina.malinic@ef.uni-lj.si. A physical, i.e. paper, form is not required.
What will happen with the already agreed exam dates for students holding special status (elite athletes, maternity, special needs)?
Such students whose exam dates were already scheduled should directly contact the relevant course leader. They will let you know if they can implement the exam online. If online exams are still not feasible, arrange new exam dates with the Student Affairs Office after 13 April 2020 or after the decision has been revoked.
ONLINE CLASSES
- Where can I find recordings of delivered lectures?
After lecturers complete their classes and process the recordings, they will send you links to those recordings. We kindly ask for your patience as the processing of recorded materials after classes takes some extra time.
- Why do some professors not implement online lectures and practical sessions?
All of our teaching staff are doing their best to quickly transfer the entire study process over to our digital platforms. We all desire the teaching process to continue without too much interruption. If you are not sure about a course, it is best to contact the course leader directly.
CANCELLATION OF STUDENT EXCHANGE
- How can we compensate for school work after our student exchange has been cancelled?
You can fulfil all your obligations within the student exchange at the SEB LU. If you have not yet been added to the classes and cannot access online lectures and practical sessions, please contact the Student Affairs Office staff by e-mail and they’ll enable your participation.
Central Economic Library (CEK)
- Can I access databases that are only accessible using the SEB LU’s computers?
Most of the e-sources from Digi*CEK (http://www.ef.uni-lj.si/cek/informacijski_viri) are accessible from home. If you need help with your access, please contact: cek@ef.uni-lj.si.
