On Monday, November 2, the School of Economics and Business University of Ljubljana was very lively. On the national level of the first European Ethics Bowl six teams competed to represent Slovenia in the international semi-finals, five of which came from the University of Ljubljana and one from the University of Maribor. The competition was also attended by six judges from institutions supporting International Fraud Awareness Week.

During the competition, the students had the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they need as European citizens and as citizens of the world. Ethical issues were presented to the students in the form of special case studies related to the pandemic COVID -19. Groups of students presented their views on ethical dilemmas in short videos. This was followed by a debate and questions and concluded with an evaluation by the judges.

The winning team of students comes from the Faculty of Social Sciences, which will represent Slovenia in the semi-finals. The semi-finals will take place on 16th November and will be organized by the SEB LU. The event will take place during International Fraud Awareness Week. In the semi-finals, teams from Slovenia, Germany, France and the alumni of the summer school programme of European Investment Bank Institute will meet in a live debate.

The European Ethics Bowl was initiated by three leading European universities (School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Goethe University, Frankfurt, University Paris Dauphine), and the Alumni Programme of European Investment Bank Institute’s Summer School.
