SEB LU Research Day 2020

On Thursday, 17 December 2020, the Research day of the School of Economics and Business took place.

The participants were first greeted by the Dean of SEB LU, Prof. Metka Tekavčič, PhD, and Vice-Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Matjaž Krajnc, PhD, followed by the speech about the “research that matters” given by the Vice-Dean of SEB LU, Prof. Miha Škerlavaj, PhD.

Then the word was given to Mojca Maher Pirc, MSc, who presented the EUTOPIA project. Among the speakers was also Prof. Tjaša Redek, PhD, who told those gathered at the online event a few words about Economic and Business Review (EBR), a scientific journal covering business and economic studies.

At the virtual event, we presented the research awards of the School of Economics and Business for 2019 and thus showed our contribution to the global treasury of knowledge in many fields of business and economic studies.

The award ceremony was followed by an interesting lecture by our alumna Tadeja Gračner, PhD (RAND Corporation), on the economic aspects of the prevention and control of obesity and chronic diseases. In the discussion, Tadeja was joined by Associate Professor Eva Turk, PhD (University of Oslo), and Associate Professor Petra Došenović Bonča, PhD.

The SEB Awards for the best research papers published in 2019 were conferred on the authors Associate Professor Katarina Katja Mihelič, PhD; Associate Professor Robert Kaše, PhD; Assistant Professor Barbara Culiberg, PhD; and Prof. Miha Škerlavaj, PhD, for the following articles:
