University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business (SEB LU) welcomed into CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme

Students of the Master in Bank and Financial Management (BFM) take steps towards professional success by preparing for the CFA Programme

Ljubljana, Slovenia, May 2021 – The University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business (SEB LU) has become the latest institution to join the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme. SEB LU’s Master in Bank and Financial Management has been recognised for including at least 70 percent of the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the programme. This programme positions students well to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become the most respected and recognised investment credential in the in this field.

Inclusion in the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme signals to prospective students, employers, and the marketplace that SEB LU’s curriculum is closely aligned with professional practice and well suited to prepare students for the CFA exams. By participating in this programme, SEB LU is eligible to receive a limited number of student scholarships each year for the CFA programme.

Master in Bank and Financial Management

Established in 2005, the Master in Bank and Financial Management is the most prestigious programme in Slovenia in this field. Graduates of this programme are highly employable in financial functions in non-financial companies, a variety of positions in financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, asset management companies and other financial intermediaries, as well as in non-profit organisations and regulatory institutions (e.g. central bank, banking and insurance regulatory institutions). The programme has ranked first in the Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking in Corporate Finance in Eastern Europe for several years.

Bank and Financial Management programme can also be taken as part of a dual degree programme. For students who wish to spend part of their Master’s studies at a foreign university, there is the possibility to participate in a Double-Degree two-year Master’s programme organised jointly with BI Norwegian Business School. The programme has an international competitive enrolment process and accepts 70 full-time students every year. The best graduates are invited for membership into the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma Society.
