The Portuguese team won the 2022 European Ethics Bowl Finals

On Saturday, December 9, 2022, the European Ethics Bowl Finals competition was organised in Luxembourg and hosted by the European Investment Bank Institute. Teams from three European universities; ISCTE Business School (Lisbon, Portugal), Université Paris Dauphine (Paris, France) and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Sofia, Bulgaria) qualified for the final round.

During the competition, students had the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they need as European citizens and as global citizens. The ethical issues were presented to the students in the form of specific ethical case study. The students presented their opinion on ethics connected with the standardisation in higher education. After team presentations, they debated with opposing teams, which was followed by questions from a panel of judges.

The group of three judges coming from European Investment Bank, Moniflo, and University of Szeged had a very hard work with evaluating the teams, who in their debating showed a high respect for opposing team members. Team from ISCTE Business School (Lisbon, Portugal) won the competition.

The EEB is a pan-European competition on ethical dilemmas initiated by three leading European universities (School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Goethe University Frankfurt, University Paris Dauphine) and the Alumni Programme of European Investment Bank Institute’s Summer School.
