Pre-exam gathering at the SEB LU Student Marketplace

On Thursday, 1 June 2023, the now traditional spring SEB LU Student Marketplace was organised in the atrium of the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana. In the sunshine, students socialised and gathered strength for the upcoming exam period. Student societies presented themselves at the marketplace and offered all sorts of challenges for various prizes.

The event was organised by Povezani EF, which also laid on refreshments. Attendees could enjoy a free hot dog and shredded pancakes called “šmorn”, while the sponsors made sure that nobody went thirsty on that sunny morning. The event was also accompanied by the rhythm of good music!

Apart from socialising, the main purpose of the event was to showcase the student societies. Students from the Management group, the Society of Female Students of Business Sciences, Young Project Managers, the University Business Club, the Society of Accounting and Auditing Students and the Povezani EF, as well as the SEB LU Career Centre and the SEB LU Alumni presented themselves at the stands. This was a very important event for the societies as they will open their doors again in October and start welcoming new members. Students had the opportunity to meet the societies and discover what they do. A similar event already took place at the beginning of the school year, where the societies presented themselves at the autumn SEB LU Student Marketplace.

Each stand prepared special challenges for the visitors. They could try their hand at different skills, such as throwing a ball at the University Business Club and competing to do the most pull-ups on a pole at the stand of the sponsor 4P Fitness. Competitors could win a wide range of prizes, from T-shirts and caps to cash vouchers. There was also a “Tour-de-EF” game at the marketplace where students had to visit all the stands and collect stamps. This allowed them to take part in a prize contest and at the same time get to know all the SEB LU societies.

The SEB LU Student Markeplace marked the end of the summer semester and was a good stepping stone for the upcoming exam period. The SEB LU is well known for student events of this kind, which really brighten up the study experience. The school atrium has not been so alive with joy, laughter and fun for a long time!
