The School of Economics and Business paves its way to successful EQUIS re-accreditation

The School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana hosted an accreditation visit for the renewal of the prestigious EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) international accreditation between 20 and 22 June 2023. Reputable accreditations place the SEB LU in the top 1% of the best and highest quality business schools in the world. It currently holds three of the most prestigious international accreditations, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, as well as several other awards of excellence that demonstrate the highest standards of educational quality. The SEB LU has already been awarded the prestigious EQUIS international accreditation in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018, most recently for a period of five years.

Professor of Management and coordinator of international accreditations, Prof. Dr Nada Zupan, emphasises that “the triple accreditation is a confirmation of the quality of the school in relation to exigent international standards. This means that students have a better quality learning experience, acquire relevant competences, ethics, social responsibility and sustainability are integrated into their studies, there are more links with practice, and there are better opportunities for exchanges and study abroad due to connections with other accredited schools.”

In response to the question “How do you see the benefits of EQUIS accreditation for students/graduates of the SEB LU?” Meta Česnik, a student of the International Full Time Master Programme in Business, told us that “the EQUIS accreditation is an additional incentive for the SEB LU to continuously develop, improve and keep in touch with the latest trends, which is certainly good for the students“.

Associate Professor Dr Matej Grošelj, part of the management team of Avant car d.o.o. and SEB LU Alumni, adds: “I see EQUIS as a guarantee of the educational quality of the SEB LU also in an international context. This accreditation consolidates and further enhances the reputation, visibility and attractiveness of both the SEB LU and its graduates (e.g. in recruitment). The latter can be confident that the SEB LU is continuously developing and improving.”

The SEB LU thus hosted an accreditation visit, during which a team of four renowned international experts, auditors and professors from prestigious international schools assessed the school’s compliance with quality standards. During the visit, the experts met with representatives of the management of the SEB LU and the University, teaching and professional staff, students, representatives of the corporate sector and members of the SEB LU Alumni.

The SEB LU continues to demonstrate the highest quality of its work and looks forward to the future with pride.
