Undergraduate Orientation Day – a warm welcome to all freshmen!

Dear freshmen,

the beginning of the academic year is irresistibly approaching and we are so happy to share all the excitement with you! You will soon enter student life and we are proud that you will take this step at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (the SEB LU).

We will organise the Undergraduate Orientation day for all first-year students enrolled in a University degree on programme in Business and Economics (English track) live at the school. We will welcome you on 29 September 2023 at 9:00 am in the Lila hall (Lila dvorana).

The English-speaking event for bachelor students will provide information on international student-specific topics:

▪          organising your life in Slovenia,

▪          the study system at the SEB LU,

▪          the student life in Ljubljana, etc.

The lessons will start on Monday, 2 October 2023. During the first week, you will also get acquainted with the activities at the SEB LU, University and the associations that work under the auspices of the SEB LU. We invite you to join our library, your favourite sports activity and become part of one of the associations, thus developing your skills and potential outside of your studies.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

▪          Study process

The study process will be conducted in person at the school.

▪          Physical Education

For freshmen, physical education is compulsory. Registration for training groups will take place from Monday, 2 October to Wednesday, 4 October. Physical education professors will be available for additional information from Monday, 2 October to Wednesday, 4 October in the lobby between the Small and Large lecture halls from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

▪          Central Economics Library (CEL) 

The CEK is welcoming freshmen at PopUp*CEK booths where you can sign in to the library and avoid the crowds. You can learn about our e-resources and trainings. Visit us between the Small and Large Halls:

• Wednesday, 27 September, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Thursday, 28 September, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Friday, 29 September, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (in front of Lila Hall)
• Wednesday, 4 October, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Thursday, 5 October, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

We also invite you to attend the library presentation for undergraduate students, where you will receive all the important information for a successful study. The presentations will take place in the library:

• 10 October 2023, at 12:30 p.m
• 18 October 2022, at 12:30 p.m.

Schedules for winter semester 2023/2024 will be published on Student-net. To access Student-net you’ll need your digital identity.

▪          EFfective freshman 

All important information about studying at the SEB LU can be found in the manual EFfective freshman, which will be sent to your e-mail address and published online.
