In December, the outstanding event, Charity Week at SEB LU, took place with great enthusiasm and response. The event was organized by Povezani EF (Student Council EF and Student Organization EF) together with the EF student clubs. The event started on Monday, December 18. The entire academic community was involved in various activities throughout the week.
Students were invited to visit a booth set up in the atrium between the Small hall and Large Hall and at the side entrance of the SEB LU. There they were welcomed with first-class desserts, coffee and tea and could also participate in many interactive activities. Various lectures were held in the afternoon, and the main event took place on Thursday, December 21, in the Large Hall of the School of Economics and Business, namely the Charity Stand-up with Vid Valič, which was attended by over 400 students. All events offered the opportunity to make voluntary contributions to support a very worthy cause.
All donations went to the organization Lunina Vila, an institute for the protection of children, whose main task is the treatment and prevention of trauma in children. In the four days of the Charity Week at the SEB LU, a total of €2588.68 was raised!
Nina Kralj, the director of Lunina Vila, expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation to all the students of the SEB LU: “At Lunina Vila, we have been helping children who have experienced some form of abuse — sexual, physical or emotional — for more than seven years, and unfortunately there are many such children.” Director Kralj went on to emphasize that the students have taken concrete steps for change with their decision to take part in the Charity Week at the SEB LU and thanked everyone who is committed to helping children in need: “With your contributions, you have helped children who have experienced violence. This assistance will help them recover from the violence, overcome all the consequences and develop into happy, healthy people. And you are the ones who make a difference”.
In the Christmas atmosphere that prevails at this time, the students have shown that generosity and social responsibility can become powerful drivers of positive change. The success of Charity Week at the SEB LU is undoubtedly tangible evidence of the collective ability to improve the lives of those in need and confirms that together we can put a smile on the faces of those who are struggling.
