Clicking-away Digital Waste
Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10 a.m.
In the digital world, much like in our environment, there is a vast amount of waste. According to various estimates, digital technologies, including information technology and communication networks, contributed to 4-5% of global greenhouse gas emissions in 2023, with their share increasing by about 6% annually. This is already more emissions than those produced by air traffic. With Katja Sreš from the association Ecologists Without Borders, we will focus on digital clutter in the form of unnecessary files, photos, applications, and other data. However, since the best waste is the one that does not arise at all, we will also gain useful tips for more sustainable digital habits.
