In order to appropriately understand the great power dynamics between the U.S. and China, which are currently viewed in the context of the infamous Thuycdides trap, Matevž Rašković has shed light on the history of US-China relations since the foundation of the U.S. in 1776. Drawing on his recent Fulbright fellowship experience at Harvard, he has showed the historical cyclicality in US-China relations, and that the complex relationship between these two super powers continues to be one of complementarity.
This event was sponsored by the FELU’s Master of International business program and supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana. It has also provided an opportunity for students and researchers to learn more about the prestigious  Fulbright program, and the myriad opportunities offered through it for study and research in the U.S.
The event was held on January 17th 2017, at the Faculty of Economics.
