Smart Rural Tourism: Training and work on challenges for rural communities in Slovenia

The year 2020 changed travelling and tourism. Local travel and small destinations get more and more tourists’ attention and need to adjust to the current trends. We aim to rethink the potential of the rural areas through the smart tourism approach.
School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana organizes training on Smart rural tourism, which is a part of Erasmus+ project SmartRural: Towards smart rural tourism development in Europe. Participants will learn about the specifics of smart tourism and the rural areas and will have a chance to apply their skills for solving the real-life challenges of rural communities in Slovenia. The training will focus on digitalization and will take place online, with 4 hours of introduction to the topic, followed by groupwork in teams.
Deadline for application: 22 May 2021
Number of participants that may apply: 30.Participation is free of charge, open to the public.
Prerequisits necessary: interest in tourism development and innovations, no special previous knowledge is needed. Possibility to participate in the whole event (around 4 hours of online training, independent groupwork and final presentation). The training will be in English.
The training will introduce participants to the topic of smart rural tourism, familiarize them with digital tools and trends, IoT and gamification and their application for tourism practices.
Participants will get certificates of participation and SEB LU goodies. Two best teams will have a chance to present their projects at the SmartRural final conference.
