School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (SEB LU) was again awarded the UNWTO. TedQual certificate and is once again recognised as a school of the highest quality of its tourism programmes. UNWTO.TedQual is an accreditation of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) through its Themis Foundation and provides a guarantee of the quality of tourism education programmes.

The accreditation process evaluates the quality, effectiveness, and relevance of tourism degree programmes in terms of pedagogical and administrative processes and collaboration with practitioners. In addition, the link between all aspects of the studies and the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, adopted in 1999 by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), is evaluated.

Evaluator Antonio Carles, member of UNWTO.TedQual’s Advisory board met in November 2022 with 70 SEB LU stakeholders, including faculty representatives, students, alumni, and private and public sector partners. During the visit, a three-hour online tour of the school was conducted.

The evaluator confirmed that we meet the highest quality standards in a number of areas, including curriculum coherence, attention to student needs, faculty selection, and academic, research, and industry performance. We received the UNWTO.TedQual certificate for four years and achieved a total of 95.1 percent of the possible points.
