In October 2006, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana was awarded European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation, an achievement that places it among the top tier business schools in the world. An EQUIS accreditation plaque was formally presented to the faculty by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). On behalf of the Faculty of Economics, prof. dr. Maks Tajnikar, dean of the school during the period of EQUIS accreditation, prof. dr. Nevenka Hrovatin, vice dean of international relations, prof. dr. Janez Prašnikar, vice dean of science and research, and prof. dr. Tanja Dmitrović, program coordinator, received the award.
EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. It is given to those organizations demonstrating not only high quality in all dimensions of activities, but also a high degree of internationalization. The faculty will join a select worldwide group of 100 business schools as an accredited member of this prestigious quality assurance organization. This remarkable achievement not only recognizes the outstanding work performed by the students, staff, university executives, alumni, and the business community, but also motivates and commits the school to continue its work towards excellence.
