Tourism and Hospitality Academy opening

On Thursday the 22nd of March 2012 FELU and Centre of Business Excellence started with an International Business academy; Tourism and Hospitality academy  designed for middle and top management. The Academy opening was a motivating lecture conducted by John Tribe, Ph.D. on “Future of Tourism”.

Ljubica K. Cvelbar, Ph.D., academy programme director, continued with the opening and introduced the modules and the programme to all the participants.

The first module, “GO Sustainable” started with prof. Tanja Mihalič. Ph.D., FELU and prof. Pauline Sheldon Ph.D. from University of Hawaii. Professor Sheldon’s is a president of the International Academy for Tourism, a prestigious group of the most distinguished researchers in tourism. She was also a dean at the “School of Travel Industry” at the University of Hawaii. She received many prestigious awards for her contributions to the development of tourism.

The next module “Capital Budgeting and Corporate Valuation Industry and Tourism”, starting in April will be led by prof. Peter Groznik, Ph.D. from FELU.
