On Wednesday, 28. 11. 2012, Faculty of Economics University of Ljubljana – Management Course was hosting general manager of Makedonija Trade, d.o.o., Ms Biljana Andonova and manager of Tabakum export-import, d.o.o., Mr Goce Tasev. The theme of the Guest Lecture was the inter-exchange in organizing relationships with strategic suppliers of both companies that was presented as a method of in-class case studies analysis.
Makedonija Trade, d.o.o., was established in 1993 and is a wholesaler, distributer and representative od companies and its products. Its main products are ajvar, red roasted peppers, lutenica, beetroot and goat or cottage cheese in brine (among others), that they import mostly from Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, BiH, Serbia and Italy. Ms Biljana Andonova presented to our students the interesting overview of international business and then moved on to tactical and operational side of being an importing company in seven stages: ranging from contacting the business partner, getting an offer, negotiations, legislation, logistics, indicative calculation and finally, making the first order.
The second company that presented organizing function in action was Tabakum export-import, d.o.o. that has a long–standing tradition in car batteries and gardening equipment in Slovenia as the company was established in 1974. Mr Goce Tasev presented an in-depth case study of his relationship with two strategic suppliers of Tabakum export-import, d.o.o.: (1) OREC, Japan; and (2) MA-FRA, Italy. This way our students received a holistic insight into the supplier-importer relationship from the perspective of Slovenian importer, enabeling them to know what is important (check/do) before starting an international business move.
Professors Vlado Dimovski, Sandra Penger and assistant Judita Peterlin greatly appreciate the insightful knowledge sharing of experiences with our students and would like to thank Ms Biljana Andonova and Mr Goce Tasev also for their generosity in contributing to the good cause initiative that the Management Class is dedicated as a component of sustainable management educational efforts.
