“Day of project management” was held on 24th April at the Faculty of Economics, the event was organized by the association of Young Project Managers. An outstanding organization, interesting representatives of project managers from practice and a relaxed guided round table, have all together made the event successful.
“It is important to be good enough and not cheap enough!”
Aljoša Tušek, the owner and founder of Tushek Supercars, explained his project management approach through cuisine: “We are like cooks, when we get all the best on the market, we mix it together in order to make a unique product. We do not waste that much time with sales and the price of the ingredients, but rather with quality. “
Tomaž Stojanovič, the director of NEC Cerknica, from the non-governmental sector, pointed out innovation as a path to success: “To exist we need a strong European network. Therefore, we need to be constantly innovative enough to organize and carry out all the projects. Project management is a lifestyle, such as entrepreneurship. “
Donald Abrič Pleterski, Hella Saturnus, added: “Any weakness in the company might be the opportunity for individuals to improve things and make some changes.”
“Stereotypes in Europe are surprisingly present …”
As it is well known, outside our home borders, we all face a mixture of different traditions, customs, language and business cultures0. Related to this topic, the moderator of the discussion, Peter Frankl, the editor of the newspaper Finance, asked the guests what they think about the stereotypes when working on projects.
Uros Kušar, Litostroj Power, said: “Stereotypes exist for a reason, but exceptions confirm the rule. Slovenians have more in common with nations that are surrounded by the Alps. So far, it was the hardest to work with Czechs, Austrians and Germans are the best business partners and the biggest challenge for me is definitely Costa Rica – they are a some kind of Austrian version of Latino Americans regarding the organizational skills, with effective bureaucracy at a high level. “
What is a dream project? Life. Happiness.
Something permanent which our grandchildren will be proud of.
To be able to leave a mark in your lifetime.
