Opening course of 24th generation
The Management & Organization course is traditionally the opening course of each IMB generation of students. It is held by renowned professors with valuable experience from the field: Yoav Vardi, PhD, and Miha Škerlavaj, PhD.
This year, Professor Yoav Vardi has come to IMB for the 19th time. He completed his bachelor and master studies at Tel Aviv University in Israel and gained his PhD at Cornell University, US. During his impressive career, he was a lecturer at Tel Aviv University, Cleveland State University, Cornell University, New York University, University of Ljubljana, and Management College Israel. He is author of two books: Misbehavior in Organizations: Theory, Research, and Management and recently published Misbehavior in Organizations: A Dynamic Approach. During his career, he wrote more than 30 academic articles, which were published in journals like Organizational Science, Academy of Management Journal, and Journal of Vocational Behavior.
Miha Škerlavaj is a professor of leadership and organizational behavior at BI Norwegian Business School and an adjunct professor at the University of Ljubljana. He is an engaged teacher and awarded researcher in the field of proactive and prosocial behaviors at work, interpersonal relationships and organizational development and change. Among many other venues, he published in prestigious international publications such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Leadership Quarterly and the Human Resource Management, and a book Capitalizing on creativity: Fostering the implementation of creative ideas at work.
Their course at IMB was concluded with impressive presentations by students, who did an excellent job and proved to be outstanding team players.
