Chinese day
Confucius Institute Ljubljana has organized Chinese day together with Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Arts. The event was held on Tuesday, 8th of November 2011 at the Faculty of Social Science, University of Ljubljana. The visitors had the chance to get to know more about Chinese culture and traditions through different workshops and presentations.
The program started with introductory speeches of the organizers of the event. After that the visitors has change to see Chinese traditional martial arts, like QI Gong, Kung Fu and Taiji performance. Afterwards, student of sinology shared many facts about China and his experience while travelling around this country. Hospitality of the Chinese population and the mixture of traditional and modern values has convinced a graduate student at the Faculty of Economics to spend a year abroad as an international student at the University of Beijing. His experience was shared with all the visitors in an interesting and picture full way.
The visitors were able to participate in a prize quiz – guess the meaning of Chinese masks – and had the chance to get to know more about opportunities for getting closer with China. The event continued in the rhythms of Chinese music, coming from the traditional Chinese instrument Guzheng. Chinese day was concluded with the presentation of the winning photos of the online PHOTO COMPETITION – Discover China and with tasting of Chinese food and tea.
