Erasmus day: Presentation of study exchange

On Monday, December 5, 2011, International Relations Office organized traditional Erasmus day in order to present various possibilities of studying abroad. More than 250 students participated in this event.

At the plenary session, Head of International Relations Office, Danijela Voljč, presented Erasmus study exchange program. Students interested in studying abroad can choose among 159 Erasmus partners within European Union and 24 bilateral agreements worldwide. International coordinator at the University of Ljubljana, Bibi Ovaska Presetnik, presented funding possibilities which are offered to outgoing students. Each Erasmus student can get Erasmus grant for the period of exchange. Slovenian students can apply also for additional grant offered by national fond Javni Sklad RS za štipendiranje. Head of Student Affairs Office, Peter Rus, presented the rules and procedure regarding course recognition. According to FELU policy students who have finished the first study year at the Bachelor level can apply for Erasmus exchange. More information can be found on the student-net website.

On the roundtable former Erasmus students shared their expectations and experiences gained during their studies and life abroad. International Relations Office also hosted two representatives from partner universities, Anca Tanasie from the University of Craiova and Joachim Mayer from the University of Applied Sciences Worms.

After the official part, which was followed by Erasmus fair, students had the opportunity to get more information regarding the partner schools. Slovenian and foreign students represented their country, school, culture and experiences.

Erasmus day concluded with a traditional winter picnic in front of the faculty. This was a chance for students to bond, enjoy in good food and drinks and celebrate the upcoming winter holidays.
