Day of China, Atrium of the Faculty of Economics
Days of chinese culture started with the opening event Day of China located at our provisional outdoor chinese teahouse. We tried some chinese snacks accompanied with a cup of hot tea, going well with the unfavourable weather conditions. The chinese lion dance was followed by a demonstration of the traditional tea ceremony. In the same venue there was an exhibition of the traditional Chinese dresses and the “selfie box corner”, where the visitors could take their photos with the “Great Chinese Wall” as the background.


China through the Eyes of Children, Kino Šiška
Chinese language is the most spoken mother tongue in the world and chinese culture is one of the most rih and colourful cultures in the world. In Slovenia, more than a thousand chindren is learning chinese language and culture via Confucius Classrooms all over Slovenia. All the Slovenian Confucius classrooms under the patronage of the Chinese Institute Ljubljana have presented the unique event China through the Eyes of Children, where all the kindergartens, elementary schools and high schools of Ljubljana, Maribor and Koper have gathered for the first time, as for their pupils and high school students, which learn Chinese language took the audience on a journey to the magnificent world of Chinese culture and language.



Tomaž Šalamun, Slovenian Chinese poetry evening, Center for poetry Tomaž Šalamun
At the Center for Poetry Tomaž Šalamun there has been a chinese reading of the poetry of Tomaž Šalamun. After a short performance of playing on Chinese zither and the welcoming words of the Slovenian sinologist, Katja Kolšek, there was held a reading of some selected poems of Tomaž Šalamun in Chinese and Slovene language. The event is envisaged as the first in series of literary events, which will be organized by CI Ljubljana in the future.



Fashion exhibition: Stereo-fashion-type, Narodni muzej Slovenije
The exhibition presented selected final products, designed by the students of SANDA university from Shanghai and the department for design of textile and clothing of the NTF Ljubljana. The hard-working students had a three day workshop, during which they reflected about what unites them, what distinguishes them and how concept, form and content could be used to overcome stereotypes and create new solutions and dialogues through contemporary fashion.
