Presentation of a new book

The Faculty of Economics saw the presentation of a new book entitled Medium-sized Firms and Economic Growth. The book was edited by Professor Janez Prašnikar and published by Nova Science Publishers, Inc., New York. The book is particularly valuable since it describes medium-sized companies that are often neglected. In the literature they are usually lumped together with small-sized companies, irrespective of their differences and specific features.
The presentation was followed by a round table called “Industrial design and the possibilities of establishing a Centre of Excellence in Slovenia”. Those invited to the round table included Mr. Andrej Vizjak, Minister of the Economy, Mr. Franjo Bobinac, CEO of Gorenje, Ms. Tatjana Fink, CEO of Trimo, Mr. Stojan Petrič, CEO of the Kolektor Group, Mr. Borut Meh, CEO of Mura, Professor Miha Junkar, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ms. Nada Matičič, Linia Studio, Mr. Vladimir Pezdirc, Academy of Fine Arts, Professor Franc Pohleven, Biotechnical Faculty and Professor Janez Prašnikar, Faculty of Economics. The round table was lead by Mr. Peter Frankl, the general editor of Finance, a Slovenian business daily.
