Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and member in the European Parliament, Romana Jordan Cizelj, Ph.D. invite you to discussion entitled The voice of women in Turkey, European Union and Slovenia organised on 20 March 2009 at 5 PM in Austria Trend Hotel in Ljubljana,
JANUS hall. Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Ayse Sezgin and Slovenian Member in the European Parliament dr. Romana Jordan Cizelj will discuss about topical issues, such as the representation and achievements of women in Turkey in political, economic and social life as well as the role of women in the EU accession process. The discussion will also assess the current situation of gender policies in a general framework while focusing on what kind of measures are needed to improve gender equality in Turkey, Slovenia as well as in the other member states of the European Union which will be presented by our guests:
– prof. Ayşe Feride Acar, professor at the Dept. of Political Science and Public Admn., Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara,
– Gülseren Onanç, president of the non-governmental Association of the Women Entrepreneurs in Turkey and
– Majda Pučnik Rudl, M.Sc., director of the Office for Gender Equality of the Republic of Slovenia.
