The Round table OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN INDIA: What to expect from the EU-India Free Trade Agreement which took place on 18th of July 2013 in the international atmosphere of the Ljubljana Summer School brought together business community, policy makers, academia, and young generation of students in the debate on the opportunities and challenges in India in the wake of awaited EU-India Free Trade Agreement.
The Round table started with the presentations on the institutional context of the EU-India economic relations and expectations for the EU-India Free Trade Agreement negotiations addressed by Mrs Ulla Hudina Kmetič (Representation of the European Commission in Slovenia), Mrs Nataša Turk (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia) and Professors Katja Zajc Kejžar (FELU), Andrej Kumar (FELU) and Ram Kumar Mishra (Director of the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, India).
In the panel discussion afterwards Mr Andy Miklav (Gorenje), Mr Rudi Bric (PE-TRA Machines), Mrs Nina Knific (Panoramic Travel Group) and Mr Ramcharan Santhosh Kumar Budime shared with the participants their experiences with doing business in India and discussed how to enter Indian market and exploit its potential.
The Round table was organised with the support of the LLP programme of the European Union as a part of European Jean Monnet project Understanding the potential of the EU-India Free Trade Agreement within the Ljubljana Summer School under the leadership of Professor Katja Zajc Kejžar.
