Chinese courses for Chinese children in Slovenia
Confucius Institute Ljubljana is offering Chinese courses for Chinese children in Slovenia for the third year in a row. Chinese parents are really satisfied with teaching quality and variety of cultural activities. This year we have almost 40 children from Ljubljana and other cities from Slovenia.
They are divided into three groups according their age and how good their Chinese is. In addition to Chinese children, we also have students from transnational marriage-families. Most can speak Chinese, but do not recognize Pinyin or characters. As a result, in the youngest group, teachers focus more on Pinyin, simple characters, nursery rhymes and stories while in the intermediate group, teachers focus more on recognizing characters and radicals. For those who have already learned a lot, culture and other information related to China are also taught.
