Press conference – Results of research on Analysis of Slovenian generation of graduates in 2007

Faculty of Economics held press conference on the results of research on employment. Authors of the research entitled Analysis of Slovenian generation of graduates in 2007 were doc. dr. Polona Domadenik and Daša Farčnik, Univ. Dipl. Econ. Together wit the dean of the Faculty of Economics Ljubljana prof. dr. Dušan Mramor and vice dean for education doc. dr. Andreja Cirman, doc. dr. Tjaša Redek presented results at the press conference.
This is the first comprehensive study on the employment of the last years (2007) graduates, which was carried out within the research programme Funding of higher education for the third decade, where Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana (UL) and the Faculty of Management, University of Primorska (UP) participated.
According to the research results, graduates of University of Ljubljana have the biggest potential to find a job after graduation. The highest number on the unemployment was after nine months among graduates in University of Primorska. Among all graduates the biggest problems with employment have graduates of autonomous higher education institutions and those graduates, who were unemployed and didn’t get any experience during the process of graduation.
The results show also, that the highest employment rate after nine months is in the fields of health care and computer science, and the smallest in the arts and social sciences.
