Celebration of Chinese new year on primary school Tone Čufar
On 10th February 2014, primary school Tone Čufar in the project Learning about Chinese culture and language in the Slovenian education area, held a celebration of Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival. The event was created through close cooperation between the three Slovenian schools: Tone Čufar Elementary School, Elementary Schools Koseze, Trnovo and the Confucius Institute Ljubljana. All three elementary schools operate under the auspices of the Confucius Classroom Ljubljana, which is established at an elementary school Trnovo.
The main purpose of the event was to inform parents, teachers and the general Slovenian public with the project Learning Chinese language and culture and enable learners to develop their skills. Honourable speaker was His Excellency Mr. Zhang Xianyi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Slovenia, and Mrs. Danijela Voljč, director of the Confucius Institute Ljubljana.
Students of Tone Čufar primary school, primary school Trnovo and Koseze elementary school, with attending activity Getting to know Chinese culture and language, presented us on a extremely interesting way the characteristics of the Chinese Spring Festival, the legend of the monster Nian and what the year of the horse is going to bring us. Through the presentation of Chinese tradition and culture, the Chinese song and dance performance by copyright excellent ” Universe ” have created a festive atmosphere.
