Every year, Ljubljana Summer School attracts hundreds of students from all over the world, to spend a few weeks in Slovenia’s beautiful capital. This year, over 400 students participated in this program and on Tuesday, 10 July 2018, they had a unique opportunity to get familiar with the Slovenian culture at the specially prepared Slovenian Evening.

The forum in the middle of the Faculty was filled with international students, coming from over 50 different countries, most of them from China, Morocco, Portugal, Kazakhstan, India and the Unites States. Two weeks of studying have given them plenty of opportunities to get to know each other’s cultures as well as to take a look around Ljubljana.

Slovenian Evening was specially prepared for participants to try a selection of Slovenian food, such as “ričet”, “skutni štruklji” and “orehova potica” as well as Slovenian beer, selected wines and soft beverages.

“I am really enjoying this Summer School program. The people I have met are amazing and I think group dynamics is really great. Everyone brings something of their own to the table and together we are creating a learning, multinational environment from which everybody benefits,” were the words of a student from Germany.

Through conversations with students one could really see they’ve made the right choice by choosing this specific program in Ljubljana. A student from France said: “The whole program is remarkably well organized. We are offered a great variety of interesting courses taught by distinguished professors. I believe the knowledge I have acquired during this week will also help me with my further studies back in France.”

Even though the group is very diversified, everybody seems to enjoy Slovenia very much. “Slovenia is truly amazing! This is our first time here and the whole country is so beautiful, people are friendly, and the food is great. We’ve been around Ljubljana and the city feels very safe, comfortable and there are plenty of activities to choose from,” said participants from China.

Many more testimonies can only confirm the fact, that Ljubljana Summer School aims higher every year to bring a very well-organized, multinational learning program to students from all over the world. We wish them a pleasant stay in Slovenia, success at exams and in their further academic journey.
