The School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana again ranks, as the only business and economics school from Slovenia, among 95 top business schools in Europe, where it has improved its position by fifteen places, as published yesterday by the renowned Financial Times.
For the fifth consecutive year, the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana has joined the ranking of the 95 top business and economics schools in Europe. This year it has improved its position in the ranking by as many as fifteen places. This is another recognition of its hard work and the dedication of its employees and students as well as its quality in the international environment. The importance of this ranking is also confirmed by the fact that the condition to appear in the ranking is having at least one of the most prominent international accreditations of business schools.
It is extremely important for this improved ranking that this year, this year two programmes of the School of Economics and Business joined the ranking of top European business school programmes according to Financial Times’ criteria: besides the “International Master in Business and Organisation (IMB)” programme which is also included among the world’s best “Master in Management” programmes for the fifth consecutive year, this year Financial Times included the “Ljubljana MBA” programme of the School of Economics and Business among the top programmes in Europe in the field of “Executive MBA”.
“I am delighted that our school has been included in the prestigious Financial Times ranking for the fifth consecutive year. This is recognition and proof of excellence in education which also tells the business environment and public at large that our education programmes meet high international standards of proficiency and excellence. They give our graduates in-depth knowledge and competencies that throw open the doors to the Slovenian and international business world, as well as the broader social sphere.”
Prof. Dr. Metka Tekavčič, Dean of the School of Economics and Business
“Years ago we set ourselves a goal that, by 2025, the SEB LU would be the school of choice in business and economics in Central and Eastern Europe for doing research, learning, and creating sustainable development solutions. Our placing on the prestigious and surely the most widely recognised ranking in the world proves that we achieve our goals with dedication as well as that our modern study programmes and high-quality study environment yield valuable and highly employable graduates who can compete with those from the best European schools.”
Prof. Dr. Andreja Cirman, Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs
The School of Economics and Business is proud of its international reputation and partnerships. In the framework of the double degree programmes, its students are offered the possibility of studying in as many as four business schools which also feature on the Financial Times’ ranking (KEDGE, BI, Audencia and NOVA). In cooperation with the Swiss business school of the University of St. Gallen (traditionally among the top schools), the School of Economics and Business has organised for the sixth consecutive year a joint doctoral winter and summer school, “GSERM Ljubljana”.
