Celebration of the Chinese New Year – Year of the Dog

Chinese new year is around the corner (16th of February) and at the Confucius Institute Ljubljana we organized celebration of Chinese New Year. Year 2018 will be year of the Dog. Celebration was held in Festivalna dvorana performed by Nair Band.  

Nair band is an ethnic music group from Inner Mongolia. Formed in 2011, with modern musical arrangement they perform traditional Mongolian folk music, including throat singing. Nair in the Mongolian language is the term used for a feast or celebration, when audience and performers come together to enjoy song, music and dance. In addition to the performance audience enjoyed in traditional lion dance and tasting of Chinese cuisine.
